Angi & Renee, July 2020
Read by her sister, Renee

Angi was born on September 24th, 1965 in Seattle, Washington and passed away on December 13th, 2020 in Derby, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her father and grandparents and is survived by her husband, Darryl, her two daughters, Sarah and Nina, her son-in-law, Lance, her three grandchildren, Tate, Mailey, and Ellie, her mother, Jeanette, her brother Mark, her sister, Renee, and many more family and friends.

As we take this time to remember her life and honor her legacy, we can remember the verse Psalm 139:14 “…I am fearfully and wonderfully made”. While this verse rings true for each of us, we would like to stop and reflect on the ways Angi was uniquely made and loved by her creator. She was certainly joyful, hopeful, and vivacious. Her joy was evident in her life and almost every picture you find of her, she has a huge smile on her face. Even when there were trials and hardships in life, she remained steadfast in her hope in Jesus. However, one word that can stand out is her ability to be passionate. She gave everything her 100% devotion, from the small things to the big things. Whether it was studying every line in every chapter when she took college classes and getting 98-100% on every single test, being completely consumed with springtime flowers for days on end, or choosing a present for her grandchild, standing in the toy aisle comparing two identical toys and trying to decide which one had the cutest face. Whether it was helping with grandchildren or helping a daughter get enrolled in school, she was always available with her 100% attention and determination to get something done. She was passionate in her generosity. Whether it was going overboard and over budget for birthday parties or giving gifts for no reason at all, she always had a way of making everyone feel special and cared for. She was extremely servant hearted, extremely humble, extremely pure of heart, and extremely Christ-like. And all of these wonderful attributes flowed from her 100% devotion to her loving Savior, Jesus Christ. In Mark 12:30 Jesus reminds people that the heart of our character and choices should flow out of a heart of love for Him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” And Angi certainly lived out that verse very well. And now we say with confidence, she has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith. And we know Jesus has said to her, “well done good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of the Lord.”

One of my favorite memories of Angi was on my 50th birthday. She sent me 50 individually wrapped 50-cent pieces.
